My focus for this semester, Spring 2011, will be on creating a series of paintings on the life of circus performers; their mundane daily routine if they are stationary, their exhausting daily struggle if they are transient, and how all of this is hidden away in the application of their face-paint. I will be pulling from photographic references of scenes I create as well as from my own experiences performing and traveling with local circus troupes in 2007 and 2008.
